It’s so funny now that I’ve started this blog and have been paying more attention to my hair; I think I finally understand the art of listening to my hair. I wasn’t joking when I said this blog is dedicated to helping others and helping me grow my hair as well.
Now that I work out, I’ve started cowashing my hair more often. I co wash now on Mondays and Wednesdays. Since I wash more frequently, I’ve decided to dc my hair twice a week now instead of just once a week. Before I start my work out, I apply my conditioner to my hair and use saran wrap to cover it. My workouts are about 30mins, so it works to dc while I work out. I’ve been doing this for a while now and so far so good.
Yesterday, I dc’ed and then cowashed with my Suave Naturals conditioner (my new fave cowash) and my hair felt a bit strange…almost like it was hard and the conditioner hadn’t really penetrated my hair. So while I was detangling I tried to think of what could have caused the weird feel to my hair. Could it be a protein overload? I hadn’t used protein in a while, so maybe not. Then I remembered that it’s been a month I think since I clarified my hair. Product build up…most probably.
So tomorrow after my work out I will shampoo with my ORS Creamy Aloe shampoo mixed with a bit of baking soda, and clarify my hair, and see if that makes a difference. I will post the result this weekend letting you know how it went.
Let me ask my readers; Have you been listening to your hair lately?
