Guess who got braids!!!!!!!!!! Lol those of you who know me, know that this is something monumental. I haven’t had braids done in like 7 years, and before then it was just as long. Ever since I was a little girl I’ve hated braids. I would cry, complain etc. The woman who does my hair said “Ahan!” She’s done the braids and weaves in my house for years, in fact since secondary school. She couldn’t believe I had decided to get braids done.
Even when I started my hair journey, I avoided braids because I feared for my hairline. But with the research I’ve done, I think I can use this as protective style and still maintain a full hairline (fingers crossed).
I decided on braids, because I wanted to give my hair a break for a while. I usually do weaves, but I wanted something that will last longer and give me access to my scalp. So I felt braids seemed like the best option.
I still fear for my hairline and I expressed that to my braider, so she did brush going round the front. I think you can see the brush in the third picture. I’m not sure if this will help or not, but lets wait and see. I plan on redoing the front every 3 weeks to prevent as much damage as possible too.
These braids are here to stay for a while, therefore I plan on doing few tutorials, on how I care for my hair with them in, so stay tuned!
